IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall at isolated places over north interior Tamil Nadu today. Isolated heavy rain is also expected over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala on December 3. According to IMD’s latest information and data, Lakshadweep may experience isolated heavy rainfall on December 3 and 4.
IMD Weather Update On Cyclone Fengal
Due to heavy rainfall, a holiday for all government & private schools, and colleges has been declared on Tuesday, December 3, Puducherry’s Education Minister, A Namachivayam said.
Meanwhile, the Puducherry government has announced a relief assistance of Rs 5,000 each to all ration cardholders affected by the Cyclonic storm Fengal, Chief Minister N Rangaswamy said on Monday.
Weather Systems
The Cyclonic Storm ‘Fengal’ over north coastal Tamil Nadu & Puducherry weakened into a deep depression over the same region on Sunday and into a well-marked low-pressure area over north interior Tamil Nadu yesterday. The remnant low-pressure area is likely to emerge into the southeast & adjoining east-central Arabian Sea off the north Kerala-Karnataka coasts today.
Additionally, a western disturbance lies as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies roughly running along Long. 65°E to the north of Lat. 30°N.

Temperature Conditions And Forecast
IMD observed there was no significant change in minimum temperature over most parts of the country during the past 24 hours. Additionally, no significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over Northwest, Central & East India during the next 2 to 3 days and a gradual fall by 2-4℃ thereafter. No significant change in minimum temperatures is also likely over West India during the next 4 to 5 days.
Fishermen Warnings
Fishermen are advised not to venture along & off Kerala-Karnataka coasts on December 3 and in the Lakshadweep area on December 4 and 5. Over southeast adjoining east central Arabian sea during Dec 4 to 6.
IMD Weather Forecast For Delhi
Delhi experienced a slight fall in minimum temperature and a slight rise in maximum temperature over
the National Capital Region (NCR) during the past 24 hours. Additionally, IMD said there will be a clear sky in the National Capital Region from Dec 3 to 5 .
AQI: The overall AQI in Delhi was recorded at 225 under the ‘Poor’ Category as of 6 am today. Different parts of Delhi such as R.K. Puram recorded a lower AQI of 192, while Punjabi Bagh reported an AQI of 202.
