IMD Weather Update: While many regions witnessed a change in weather trends, ranging from heat waves to strong surface winds, some states are experiencing relief due to rainfall. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned against an upper cyclonic circulation brewing over northeast Assam. It is expected to bring heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh.
Forecast For Rain, Thunderstorms
IMD forecasts a trough and wind confluence looming over Central and adjoining parts of Maharashtra. Under its influence, Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Rayaseema, will receive light rain with gusty winds traveling at 30 to 60 kmph, on 1st and 2nd April. The other affected states are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, likely to receive rain from 31st March to 2nd April.
Rain To Lash Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh
According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by a hailstorm is likely to lash West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, North Interior Karnataka on the 1st, 2nd, and East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka on the 2nd of April.
Heat Wave, Hot & Humid Weather Warning
According to IMD, heat wave conditions will occur in isolated pockets of interior Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal on 30th March. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather conditions will persist in isolated pockets of Odisha on 30th March and in coastal areas of Gujarat from 30th March to 2nd April. Assam and Tripura will witness similar conditions on 30th and 31st March
