IMD Weather LIVE Update: Torrential Rains To Lash Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, and More

The torrential downpour has led to severe flooding in several parts of the country. Red and orange alerts have been issued in multiple states, including Delhi.

IMD Weather LIVE Update: In view of the active monsoon phase, dynamic weather conditions have been reported across Northeast, Northwest, Central, and West India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall over Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and North Gujarat over the next three days. The Weather Department has further warned of extreme conditions in the coming days.

The torrential downpour has led to severe flooding in several parts of the country. Red and orange alerts have been issued in multiple states, including Delhi. Affected areas such as Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are expected to experience continuous showers throughout the week. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh is likely to receive incessant rainfall from July 14 to 18; Chhattisgarh from July 16 to 18; West Bengal and Sikkim from July 14 to 15; Bihar from July 15 to 17; and Jharkhand and Odisha from July 14 to 15.

The IMD advises residents to prepare for possible delays and disruptions due to rain. People are also urged to remain cautious, as this year’s showers are expected to be uneven but intense. Due to prevailing western disturbances and cyclonic circulations, isolated heavy rainfall is also forecast in the following regions:

Tamil Nadu: July 15 to 18

South Interior Karnataka: July 15 to 18

IMD Forecasts Heavy To Very Heavy Rain Over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa And Madhya Maharashtra Ghat Areas

Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Konkan & Goa from July 14 to 15, and across the Gujarat region from July 12 to 16. The ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra may experience heavy showers between July 15, while Saurashtra is expected to receive heavy rain today. Very heavy rainfall is particularly forecast for the Gujarat region on July 14.
