IMD Weather LIVE Update: The monsoon has arrived as a blessing, bringing much-needed relief across several regions and cooling temperatures. For many, the rains have revived hope, but for some, they have triggered chaos. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the rainy spell will continue, with heavy showers expected to lash central and adjoining northwest India over the next 4 to 5 days.

As climate change intensifies, citizens can expect increased disruptions in their daily lives. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that such extreme weather events may displace thousands of people and submerge roads and homes. Residents are urged to remain cautious, as rainfall distribution this year is uneven but intense. Yellow and Red alerts have been issued across several states. Areas likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall include East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, West Uttar Pradesh, South Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh, and West Rajasthan.

Delhi residents have welcomed the rainfall, as it has brought down temperatures and provided significant relief from the hot and humid conditions. The IMD has forecast rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, to continue in the capital until July 17. According to the Meteorological Department, southern states such as Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh are expected to receive light showers over the next seven days. Meanwhile, a warning for hot and humid conditions has been issued for isolated pockets of East Assam on July 12, and for Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema until July 13.
