Residents are urged to remain cautious, as rainfall distribution this year is uneven but intense. Yellow and Red alerts have been issued across several states. Areas likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall include East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, West Uttar Pradesh, South Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh, and West Rajasthan.

Delhi residents have welcomed the rainfall, as it has brought down temperatures and provided significant relief from the hot and humid conditions. The IMD has forecast rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, to continue in the capital until July 17. According to the Meteorological Department, southern states such as Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh are expected to receive light showers over the next seven days. Meanwhile, a warning for hot and humid conditions has been issued for isolated pockets of East Assam on July 12, and for Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema until July 13.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely to continue over Madhya Pradesh from July 12th to 17th; Chhattisgarh from July 12th to 14th; Jharkhand from July 12th to 15th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim from July 13th to 16th; Gangetic West Bengal on July 14th; and Odisha from July 12th to 16th. Bihar may experience heavy rainfall on July 11th, 15th, and 16th, with very heavy rainfall expected over Madhya Pradesh from July 12th to 14th.
