IMD Weather LIVE Update: An intense spell of rain and thunderstorms is expected to affect multiple states in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe from 10th- 13th. Meanwhile, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, and Interior Karnataka will also witness torrential rain during 11th-13th.
There is a possibility of an intense downpour over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands today. Additionally, the Weather Body has predicted light to moderate showers to continue to lash northeast India during the next 7 days. The other affected regions, likely to receive a fresh spell of rain, include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya during 10th-13th June; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura during 11th-13th June; Madhya Pradesh on 8th; Vidarbha till 9th; Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands during 8th-11th; Gangetic West Bengal on 11th; Bihar during 10th-13th; Jharkhand during 10th & 11th June.
An alert has also been issued for a heat wave over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh during 9th-11th June; East Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh on 9th & 10th; West Rajasthan during 8th-11th June. Meanwhile, hot & humid weather is likely to prevail over Odisha during 7th-09th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on 8th June. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Konkan and Goa on the 8th, and over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada from June 8th to 11th.
