During this active phase of monsoon, authorities have laid special emphasis on vigilance and preparedness to minimise damage and ensure public safety.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of various possible impacts, including low visibility, traffic jams, uprooted trees, power supply disruptions and damage to vulnerable structures. There is also a high risk of flash floods, landslides and waterlogging in areas receiving heavy rainfall. Agricultural operations may also be affected, causing damage to crops and problems for farmers in recently sown fields.
The administration has urged people to remain vigilant, stay away from flood-affected areas and strictly follow safety instructions. Farmers have been advised to delay sowing, use mulching to protect the soil and plant roots, and make proper arrangements for drainage in the fields. At the same time, fishermen have been strictly instructed not to go to sea at this time as the weather is bad and the wind speed is high.
