The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a spell of isolated heavy rainfall in Kerala due to prevailing weather conditions in the southern region of the country.
On Sunday, the IMD issued orange alerts for three districts in Kerala: Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Malappuram.
The IMD’s forecast indicates the presence of a cyclonic circulation situated over south Tamil Nadu and nearby regions, with a probable west-northwestward movement towards the southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea over the next three days.

These weather patterns are expected to bring widespread light to moderate rainfall across South Peninsular India in the coming week, driven by strong lower-level easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal associated with the mentioned systems.
Furthermore, the IMD anticipates isolated heavy rainfall in Kerala from November 5 to 8, with Sunday also experiencing isolated very heavy rainfall in the southern state. Kerala residents should remain prepared for these varying weather conditions in the days ahead.
