The Election Commission has set November 14 as the date of the results for the constituencies. In the current election, HAM(S) wants to keep control of the Imamganj seat with their candidate Deepa Kumari Manjhi. RJD aims to regain support by using anti-incumbency sentiment and attracting Dalit voters. The Jan Suraaj Party is also contesting, which may change how votes are shared. This makes the election a three-way contest.
The constituency has witnessed repeated victories for the Manjhi family in recent years. In the 2020 Assembly election, Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAM(S) won with 78,762 votes, defeating Uday Narain Choudhary of RJD by a margin of over 16,000 votes. Manjhi had also secured the seat in 2015, defeating the same opponent with a margin of around 29,000 votes.
