New Delhi:Two “illegal constructions” owned by Nanda Kumar, one of the accused of allegedly attempting to poach Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), were demolished on Sunday.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said the properties was pulled down as it was an unauthorised construction. One of the property named, the Deccan Kitchen restaurant, located at Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills was razed amid heavy police security.

Nanda Kumar had taken the land from film producer Daggubati Suresh Babu on lease a few years back. Afterwards, the accused had built two illegal sheds at the same land without obtaining due permission from the concerned, said the GHMC authorities.

The ‘illegal’ restaurant was being run in a partnership with one named Pramod.

As per media sources, the Town Planning Wing had issued a notice to Nanda Kumar but he ignored it and continued to run the restaurant.

It is also alleged that Nanda Kumar along with two other accused in the case Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma and Simhayaji from Tirupati, had made the plan to poach the MLAs while having a stay in the Deccan Kitchen.

Meanwhile, the family including Nanda Kumar’s wife and son alleged that they never received any notice.

Chitralekha, Nanda’s wife, said they were given only one notice but they obtained a stay order on it from the court. When they showed the notice to the GHMC authorities, they ignored.
