INDIA bloc formed with a motive to defend the BJP govt at the center seems to be a far-fetched dream already for the very evident difference between the parties that have formed this bloc. Akhilesh Yadav, former Chief Minister of UP took a potshot at Congress, one of the allies of the bloc over its disinterest in forming a coalition with regional parties for the upcoming assembly polls.
Indian National Congress that portrayed to take a backseat in the giant alliance, INDIA, is now keen on working with the allies only for Lok Sabha polls. While making decisions on seat sharing for the upcoming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, the party didn’t consider working with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party.
What has triggered Akhilesh even more is Congress’ stance of keeping it unsaid that the coalition is only for the Lok Sabha elections. “If I had known this the first day that we were not working together for Vidhan Sabha, we wouldn’t have attended their meetings or phone calls”, he said.
“अगर ये मुझे पहले दिन पता होता कि विधानसभा स्तर पर कोई गठबंधन नहीं है INDIA का तो कभी मिलने नहीं जाते हमारी पार्टी के लोग और न ही हम कभी सूची देते कांग्रेस के लोगों को। गठबंधन केवल उत्तर प्रदेश में केंद्र के लिए होगा तो उसपर विचार किया जाएगा।”

Taking a dig at the situation, he said, “Our party members kept attending meetings, perhaps we were only confused. The former CM of Madhya Pradesh, who has been in the role many times, kept discussing with us our plan. We shared our strategy and our history of when we won what and he assured us of six seats and when their seat-distribution plan was released, we got zero seats to contest.”
“If they say that coalition is only in UP for the Lok Sabha elections, we will think on it and we will behave the way they behave with us”, he added.
SP is one of the major parties in Uttar Pradesh, the state that bags 80 Lok Sabha seats. If Akhilesh reciprocates as per his statement, it might go murkier for the giant bloc INDIA that was formed not on the basis of a common principle but a common motive to defeat the Modi government.
