IB’s Eye On Other YouTubers: Odisha’s Priyanka Senapati Questioned Over Pakistan Trip With Jyoti Malhotra

Indian intelligence and police agencies have intensified their probe into Odisha-based YouTuber Priyanka Senapati after the arrest of Haryana travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra on charges of spying for Pakistan.

Since YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was apprehended for suspected espionage for Pakistan, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has begun to take further actions. The IB has allegedly begun to reel in other YouTubers as well. The IB was allegedly questioning a YouTuber named Priyanka Senapati, who is from Puri, Odisha. Priyanka allegedly revealed how she came in contact with Jyoti, and the reason Priyanka visited Pakistan.

Priyanka Was In Pakistan With Jyoti

Investigations by the Puri police and IB information have revealed that Priyanka went with Jyoti to Pakistan via the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for content creation work and, like Jyoti, interacted with several people while visiting there. She is now in police custody and has been interrogated by IB men in a number of sessions and as of now there are no formal charges against Priyanka Senapati.

How Priyanka Came To Contact Jyoti

Priyanka’s father, Rajkishore Senapati, told media that Jyoti and Priyanka met during Jyoti’s trip to Odisha in September 2024. He said, “My daughter became friends with Jyoti through YouTube and accompanied her to various places in Puri as a friend. It was purely a professional relationship. We had no knowledge of her alleged espionage activities.”

Priyanka Gave A Statement On Social Media

YouTuber Priyanka Senapati put out a statement on social media after she found out about Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest. Priyanka said that she did not know about Jyoti’s activities. She said, “Jyoti was just a friend I met through content creation. I’m shocked by the news of her arrest. I am cooperating with the authorities and will continue to do so in the future.”
