Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who is serving jail over money laundering charges, has penned down an emotional letter to his mother assuring her that he will definitely come back.
Sanjay Raut wrote this letter to his mother on August 8, a week after his arrest. This letter has been tweeted from Sanjay Raut’s Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Raut’s judicial custody in connection with the Patra Chawl land scam case was extended till October 17 on Monday.
“Shiv Sena is our mother as you are my mother. I was pressured to be dishonest with my mother,” Raut said in a letter, adding that he had to go to jail because he was not afraid of the threats.

“Shiv Sena is like mother to me. I was pressured to be dishonest with my mother. There were threats asking me to not speak against the government. I did not pay heed to these threats. I am away from you today for this one reason. Don’t worry though, Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sainiks will take care of you,” the letter reads.
Everyone is aware that he has been framed under false and bogus charges and statements are extracted from him at gun point, Raut alleged.
It has been many years since I wrote you a letter, Sanjay said, adding that the central government has given an opportunity to write this letter.
Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 1 in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl in suburban Goregaon in Mumbai.
