Authorities have stated that Ajay Gupta will be formally placed under arrest before being flown to Goa for interrogation. Officials emphasized that his questioning is a critical step in clarifying the ownership and management structure of the nightclub and establishing accountability following the December 6 tragedy. The fire, which broke out around midnight at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, North Goa, claimed 25 lives and has triggered increased scrutiny of safety standards at entertainment venues.
Meanwhile, the two main owners, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, have reportedly fled to Phuket, Thailand. Interpol has issued a Blue Corner Notice against them, involving international law enforcement in efforts to track their whereabouts.

Authorities have also issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Surinder Kumar Khosla, a British national and co-owner of the nightclub, highlighting ongoing efforts to hold all responsible parties accountable.
So far, five individuals linked to the nightclub’s operations have been taken into custody, including Chief General Manager Rajiv Modak, General Manager Vivek Singh, Bar Manager Rajiv Singhania, Gate Manager Riyanshu Thakur, and employee Bharat Kohli.
