New Delhi: Reacting to Tamil Nadu governor R.N. Ravi’s step to oppose V Senthil Balaji staying in the MK Stalin cabinet Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha on Saturday said that rights of non-BJP ruled state being snatched through Lieutenant Governor (LG) or Governor.

He said that CM has all the authority to choose the cabinet.

“A trend is being seen in non-BJP ruled states that rights of government and CMs are being snatched through LG or Governor. Recently in Tamil Nadu, the Governor said that the MLA (Senthil Balaji) is not fit to be a minister. Constitution clearly states that CM has all the authority to choose the cabinet,” said Raghav Chadha.

This trend is dangerous for the country. I think Governors & LGs offices should be abolished as it is a colonial hangover, he said further.

Earlier, After Enforcement Directorate arrested Tamil Nadu minister Senthil Balaji in an alleged job scam, Tamil Nadu Governor allocated his portfolio to another minister saying Balaji is not fit in the cabinet after being arrested.
