Mumbai: Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday acussed the BJP led- Central Government for extending undue favours to Adani group chief Gautam Adani and questioned that how the wealth of Adani drastically surged in their term.

Addressing the media, Kharge said, “All parties conducted this meeting effectively. We initially laid the foundation for the alliance during discussions at my residence, then established an agenda in the Patna meeting, and now in Mumbai, all parties have openly shared their perspectives.”

Kharge criticized Centre over the skyrocketting prices of the the prices of the LPG and fuel and said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not working for the poor ads their policies do not prioritize the welfare of the economically disadvantaged.

“Our collective goal is clear – addressing the challenges of unemployment, soaring fuel prices, and rising LPG cylinder costs. The BJP initially raised prices significantly and made only minimal reductions. It’s evident that Prime Minister Modi’s policies do not prioritize the welfare of the economically disadvantaged. Just yesterday, Rahul Gandhi presented a report highlighting the significant increase in Adani’s income,” he said.

“Today, a special session of Parliament has been convened without consulting the opposition. In the past, we haven’t seen special sessions during critical events like the Manipur crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns related to China, or issues concerning demonetization and migrant laborers. The agenda behind this sudden session remains unclear. This approach to governing is not in line with the principles of a democracy. It seems we are gradually moving towards a more authoritarian form of governance,” Congress national president asserted.

However, Shive Sena UBT Sanjay Raut said that they will jointly contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and will surely emerge victorious, following the third opposition meeting on Friday.

“We’ve achieved significant milestones as well. We’ve established the INDIA Alliance Coordination Committee, comprising 14 members. Additionally, we’ve set up four key committees, featuring representatives from various political parties,” he said.

“We’ve successfully adopted crucial resolutions, including the formation of the 14-member INDIA Alliance Coordination Committee. Additionally, we’ve established four main committees, with representation from across all political parties,” Raut stated.

Revealing the names of the members of the 14 member committee, Raut informed, “KC Venugopal (INC), Sharad Pawar (NCP), TR Baalu (DMK), Hemant Soren (JMM), Sanjay Raut (SS-UBT), Tejashwi Yadav (RJD), Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), Raghav Chadha (AAP), Javed Ali Khan (SP), Lalan Singh (JDU), D Raja (CPI), Omar Abdullah (NC), Mehbooba Mufti (PDP), and one additional member from CPI(M) is yet to be announced.”

Meanwhile, giving the details about the resolutions passed by the I.N.D.I.A, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray said, “Today, INDIA parties have passed three significant resolutions. First, we jointly resolve to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in close cooperation. We will promptly commence and finalize seat-sharing arrangements in various states, fostering a collaborative spirit. Second, we commit to organizing public rallies across the nation at the earliest, addressing pressing public concerns. Third, we pledge to harmonize our communication and media strategies, uniting under the theme ‘Judega Bharat, Jeetega India’ in diverse languages.”

The third official gathering of the opposition coalition, the INDIA alliance, commenced on Friday with the goal of formulating an action plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls.

The inaugural meeting of the united opposition took place in Patna on June 23, followed by the second meeting in Bengaluru on July 17-18.
