During the opposition discussions, Nitish Kumar, raised concerns about naming the opposition alliance as INDIA.
He questioned the appropriateness of using the name “INDIA” for an opposition alliance. Additionally, he expressed reservations regarding the similarity between the proposed acronym and the existing acronym “NDA” (National Democratic Alliance).
“All right, if all of you are okay with it (the name INDIA), then it is fine,” NDTV quoted Bihar Chief Minister as saying.
However, on July 18, the crucial opposition meeting was concluded following which the 26 like minded party alliance announced its new name – I.N.D.I.A, which stands for Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance.
Apart from this several decisions were taken during the meeting including forming a 11-member coordination committee, and setting up a secretariat in the national capital for campaign management and other committees for specific purposes.
Additionally, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge also informed that the next opposition will be held in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, the date of the meeting is yet to be finalized, said Congress national president.
