Following Sonam Raghuvanshi’s surrender in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur, her brother Govind shared details on how he got to know about her. He stated that he got emotional when Sonam called him after more than two weeks. Sonam was found near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road on Monday. She was sent to Sadar Hospital for initial treatment and then transferred to Sakhi One stop centre. Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong while addressing the media yesterday, highlighted that while three others were caught in the late- night operation, Sonam surrendered herself.
What Did Govind Say?
While Govind refrained from commenting further on his sister’s arrest and her involvement in the case, he shed light on Sonam’s condition when she spoke to him after 20 days. He added that he informed the police after talking to her and she was taken safely from the Kashi Dhaba by the cops.
“When she called me, I got emotional, and later informed the police. Until I meet her (Sonam), I cannot say anything. For the last 72 hours, I have been awake. It’s been 20 days since I met her,” said Govind.
According to Raja’s brother, Vipul Raghuvanshi, he was informed about Sonam’s location around 2 am by her brother, Govind on Monday. Vipul told ANI, “I spoke to Govind around 2 AM. He informed me that Sonam was found in Uttar Pradesh. After we contacted UP Police, Sonam was taken by the police. She did not surrender. We will not agree that Sonam is the accused until and unless she confesses to this.”
Police personnel have been deployed outside Sonam’s residence in Indore. Siyaram Singh, SHO, Banganga Indore, said, “Sonam lives here. So people have gathered here, and security has been deployed as a precaution. We are not aware of the details of the case. Meghalaya Police is investigating the case.”
