Mumbai: Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar on Tuesday denied all speculations to join Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) with his supporters.

He blamed the media for spreading rumours without any certain reason.

” There is no truth to any rumour spreading about me. I am with NCP and will stay with NCP,” said Ajit Pawar.

Denying all the talk of a rift in the NCP and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance he said, “I did not take signatures of 40 MLAs. The members that came to meet me today, this is a routine process. Do not come up with any other meaning”.

The current Leader of the Opposition and former Deputy CM said that party workers were getting confused due to all the buzz. ” I want to tell all NCP workers that don’t worry, the party has been established under the leadership of Sharad Pawar, and We have been in Power or in opposition several times,” Ajit Pawar said.

NCP leader said such rumours were being spread intentionally to divert the attention from real including unemployment and farmers’ problems.

Earlier, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar also brushed off speculation about a split in the party.

” There is no truth in such reports. Ajit is working for the party. He did not call any meetings of MLAs. This is all in your mind,” the NCP chief told reporters.
