Torrential rain for two hours on Tuesday night caused havoc in Telangana, resulting in at least 20 deaths in various incidents across the state. Although Telangana has experienced numerous rain-related deaths before, the unusually high death toll during peak summer on Tuesday is noteworthy.
A tragic incident occurred in Bachupally where a 25-feet retaining wall collapsed at a construction site, crushing seven migrant workers to death during the late hours of Tuesday. Similarly, in the neighboring Medak district, two laborers lost their lives when an under-construction wall fell on them due to heavy rain and strong winds.

Based on data from the India Meteorological Department, most areas of Telangana experienced an average rainfall of 12mm between 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm. Hyderabad received the heaviest rainfall, averaging 39.5mm. Tragically, after the rainfall, four individuals, including a child, died from electrocution in the city. In Begumpet, police reported that two individuals, including a pub employee, were swept away in a drain. Additionally, authorities discovered an unidentified body in the Musi River at Moosarambagh, suspected to be a casualty of the rain.
