In a shocking incident, a man thrashed his pregnant wife with cement bricks in public in Telangana’s Hyderabad. A video of the incident went viral on social media.
According to a PTI report, the accused has been identified as 32-year-old Basharath. He met his 22-year-old wife, Shabana, in a shared auto during his visit to Ajmer Dargah in Rajasthan in 2023.
Couple started facing family issues
They got into a relationship and married in 2024 in Kolkata. According to the police statement, Shabana moved to Hyderabad, but over time, they started facing family issues.
The woman got ill on March 29 and was admitted to a private hospital over complaints of vomiting and weakness. She revealed to the nursing staff that her husband had been treating her in an ill manner.
Man attacked his wife outside hospital
On April 1, Shabana’s husband reached her to take her home, but she was not ready to go with him. An altercation took place between the two. Irked by the incident, Basharath dragged her out of the hospital and hit her with two cement bricks on her chest and head multiple times.
Police arrested the man on April 2
He fled from the spot after the incident. Later, the police arrested him on April 2, and he was produced before the court on April 3. The woman was admitted to a hospital where she was receiving medical treatment.
