A woman and her two children went missing while on a walk in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Following the incident, an unidentified individual demanded a ransom of one lakh rupees through WhatsApp messages sent to her husband. The kidnapper even provided a QR code for the ransom payment. The police have filed a missing person’s report and initiated an investigation into the case.
On August 1, a 29-year-old woman named Preeti from Ward No. 10 of Fazilnagar Nagar Panchayat in Kushinagar went for a walk with her two children, 10-year-old Deep Shikha and 9-year-old Divyanshu. They disappeared near a canal, causing alarm in the area. Three days later, Preeti’s husband, Swatantra Singh, received WhatsApp messages and calls demanding a ransom of one lakh rupees.

Swatantra Singh requested the alleged kidnapper to let him speak with his wife and children over a video call. In response, the kidnapper sent a message stating, “the daughter is gone.”
On August 4, Swatantra Singh reported the situation to the Patharwa police. The police filed a missing person’s report for Preeti but did not include the two children. The lack of progress in the investigation, even after six days, has raised concerns.
