Srinagar: A huge cache of arms and ammunition was seized by security from a house in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said on Sunday.
The arms cache was recovered from the house of one Rafaqat Hussain Shah, a resident of Panjtaran in Karnah area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara, in a cordon-and-search operation last night, a police spokesperson said, as reported by news agency PTI.
During the search, one pistol, two pistol magazines, 16 pistol rounds, two hand grenades, two detonators, and other incriminating materials were recovered from the said house, the spokesperson said.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered, in connection with the seizure. Further investigation is in progress, he said.
3 ‘hybrid’ militants arrested with arms, ammunition
J&K police and Army arrested three ‘hybrid’ militants along with a huge consignment of arms and ammunition from the outskirts of Srinagar, police said on Sunday.
“Army (2RR) and Srinagar Police arrested three hybrid terrorists along with a huge consignment of 03 AK rifles, 02 Pistols, 09 Magazines & 200 rounds from outskirts of Srinagar,” Kashmir Zone Police said on Twitter.
They said the investigation is going on in the matter.
