How Different entry Programs and Eligibility Requirements Allow Women to Join in the Indian Army?

Over the years, several landmark decisions have expanded opportunities for women in the armed forces, enabling them to take on combat roles and other key strategic responsibilities.

Women’s induction into the Indian Army officer cadre began in 1992, with training conducted by the Officers Training Academy. Since then, more than 1,200 women officers have been commissioned into various arms and services of the Indian Army. The following are the entry schemes available for women at different levels in the Indian Army.
