Rajasthan welcomed a new Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, whose name was selected during the Legislative Party meeting held on Tuesday. The BJP, triumphing in three of the five-state assembly elections last November, has now unveiled the identity of the CM candidates for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, ending the state’s speculation. The newly elected Chief Minister of Rajasthan also boasts considerable wealth, possessing both movable and immovable assets valued at more than Rs 1 crore.
Rajasthan’s recent announcement of a new face echoes the pattern witnessed in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Mohan Yadav has been named CM in Madhya Pradesh, while Vishnu Deo Sai has taken charge in Chhattisgarh. Similar to MP and CG, Rajasthan, too, unveiled a completely unexpected candidate, Bhajan Lal, as the new CM, deviating from the names initially discussed in the race for the chief ministerial position.
Bhajanlal Sharma’s Assets and Liabilities
Bhajan Lal Sharma, elected as an MLA for the first time from the Sanganer assembly seat, disclosed his net worth during the elections. He stands as a millionaire, with total assets amounting to Rs 1,46,56,666 and liabilities of Rs 35 lakh. His asset affidavit states cash holdings of Rs 1,15,000 and deposits of approximately Rs 11 lakh across various bank accounts.
Rajasthan CM’s Possessions
The new Rajasthan CM possesses three tolas of gold valued at Rs 1,80,000. He hasn’t invested in shares or bonds but holds insurance policies from LIC and HDFC Life, amounting to Rs 2,83,817. Additionally, his asset roster includes a Tata Safari, estimated at Rs 5 lakh, and a TVS Victor motorcycle valued at Rs 35,000.
In terms of immovable assets, Bhajan Lal Sharma owns 0.035 hectares of agricultural land in Bharatpur, worth Rs 3 lakh.
