Bihar’s Kishanganj police made arrests on Sunday related to the gang rape of a 30-year-old woman, apprehending four individuals in connection with the case.

The accused individuals, identified as Sher Singh (55), Aakash Singh (27), Brijlal Singh (30), and Shayamu Singh (25), allegedly kidnapped the woman from her house at Halim Chowk under Kishanganj police station area on Saturday and transported her in a Bolero camper van. Subsequently, they subjected her to brutalization at knifepoint in a maize field.
After committing the crime, the accused threatened her with dire consequences and fled from the spot in the van. The survivor then reached home and narrated her ordeal.
“Sagar Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kishanganj, stated, ‘We received a complaint of gang-rape. Due to the sensitive nature of the matter, we promptly formed a team to apprehend the accused. The woman provided us with descriptions of the accused, and our team collected information about them. We located them at Mahalgaon village in Araria district. Subsequently, we conducted a raid and apprehended them,'”
“Mr. Kumar stated, ‘We conducted the medical examination of the woman at Sadar Hospital, which confirmed rape. Subsequently, we registered an FIR under relevant sections of IPC 363, 366, 376D, 506, and 34 at the women’s police station on Saturday evening.”
