Madhya Pradesh: A 23-year-old pregnant woman named Reena Tanwar was brutally murdered in Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh. Her hands and legs were severed, and her mutilated body was set on fire. Reena’s family has accused her husband, Mithun, and her in-laws of torturing her for dowry.
The tragic incident occurred in Tandi Khurd village, within the Kalipeeth police station’s jurisdiction. A villager informed Reena’s family about the murder yesterday. When her father, Ramprasad Tanwar, arrived in Tandi Khurd with the police, they discovered that her in-laws had fled, leaving her burning pyre behind.
Reena’s family managed to extinguish the flames and recover her half-burnt body, which was then wrapped in cloth and sent for an autopsy.
Reena Tanwar had been married to Mithun Tanwar for five years. She was a mother to a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and was four months pregnant with her second child at the time of her death.

Her father, Ramprasad Tanwar, has accused Reena’s in-laws of persistently demanding money and subjecting her to torture.
Rajneesh Sirothia, the in-charge of the Kalipeeth police station, confirmed that a case has been filed and an investigation is underway. He stated that further action will depend on the findings of the investigation. Mithun Tanwar and his family members are currently evading arrest.
Reena’s family has called for stringent action against her in-laws. Vishnu Tanwar, a relative, expressed their frustration, saying, “We used to send money to settle disputes, but this time they went too far.” He also mentioned receiving a call from a villager informing them of Reena’s murder and the burning of her body. By the time they arrived, the pyre was still burning.
