Honeytrap Case: Social Media Influencer Kirti Patel Held In Ahmedabad After Evading Arrest For 10 Months

It is reported that she evaded the police by changing cities and using multiple SIM cards. However, on Wednesday, June 18, she was tracked in Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad and the Surat Police successfully managed to arrest her.


Social media influencer Kirti Patel, who had been on run for over 10 months, has been finally arrested in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She has been apprehended in connection with alleged honeytrap and extortion case involving a local builder. Patel, who has 1.3 million followers on Instagram, was wanted in the case that had been registered on June 2 in Surat. She was accused of luring the builder, blackmailing him and demanding crores. Five people were named in the FIR, including Patel. While four accused were arrested, Patel was absconding for more than ten months.

What Did Police Say?

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-1, Surat, Alok Kumar said, “We were trying to track Kirti Patel down for 10 months. With the help of our technical team and cyber experts, we tracked her location to Sarkhej in Ahmedabad. We contacted our counterparts in Ahmedabad and arrested her. She has been accused of honeytrapping and extortion. In these 10 months, her location kept changing constantly, in different parts of Gujarat. The IP address kept changing, as did her phone numbers and SIM cards. We also coordinated with Instagram to get her location.”

He added that Patel had demanded a ransom of 2 crores from a builder.

“In June 2024, an FIR was registered for honey-trapping, and 5 accused were there, 4 were arrested while Kirti Patel was on the run for the last 10 months… We had arrested her based on the warrant issued by the court and produced here before the court.  She has demanded a ransom of 2 crores from a builder,” DCP stated.
