Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time on Thursday, November 20, following the NDA’s decisive victory in the state assembly elections. The grand oath-taking ceremony took place at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states were present to witness the historic event, which marks yet another milestone in Nitish Kumar’s long political career.
Senior NDA leaders, including BJP National President JP Nadda, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and others were present at the swearing-in ceremony of the NDA government in Bihar. In a meeting of the NDA legislative party held on Wednesday, Kumar was unanimously chosen as their leader.
Bihar Assembly Election Results
The results of the Bihar Assembly Elections were declared on Friday, November 14, with the ruling NDA securing a decisive victory. The BJP emerged as the single largest party with 89 seats, followed closely by its ally JDU with 85 seats. RJD won 25 seats while the LJP secured 19. Other results included Congress with 6 seats, AIMIM and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) winning 5 seats each, Rashtriya Lok Morcha 4, CPI (ML) Liberation 2, and one seat each going to the Indian Inclusive Party, CPI (M), and BSP. The Bihar Election Results 2025 delivered a decisive victory for the NDA, clearing the way for Nitish Kumar to return as Chief Minister. The strong mandate reaffirmed the alliance’s dominance in the state’s political landscape.
