Flights delay at Airport: As Delhi got engulfed with dense layer of smog during morning hours on Thursday, flight services were affected. Several flight operations were affected which resulted in delay of over 300 flights at the Delhi Airport, reports stated.
As per reports, a total of 115 flights arriving in Delhi since 12 am, and 226 flights departing from the national capital were delayed.
Delhi Airport Issues Advisory
Delhi Airport on Thursday issued an advisory for passengers and informed that all flight operations are currently normal, however, ‘Low Visibility Procedures’ are in progress at the airport. It shared a post on X and wrote, “Low Visibility Procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.”

Earlier on Wednesday, eight flights were diverted at the Indira Gandhi International Airport due to low visibility.
A dense layer of smog enveloped Delhi as the pollution level continued to rise. Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi dropped to ‘Severe’ category. The AQI turned “severe” for the first time this season on Wednesday. The Commission for Air Quality Management describing the situation as an “episodic event” of “unprecedented extremely dense fog.”
