Vijay Vardhan’s journey from failing many times to becoming an IAS officer is truly inspiring. Even after failing 35 exams, he didn’t give up and finally passed the UPSC exam twice.
Vijay, from Sirsa in Haryana, studied electronics engineering in Hisar. With the dream of becoming a civil servant, he moved to Delhi to prepare for the UPSC exam.
During his journey, he applied for several government jobs as a backup plan. These included the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL), and Combined Defence Services (CDS).
Although things didn’t go as he had hoped, he faced repeated setbacks and ended up failing 35 times in his attempts.
These setbacks could have easily discouraged anyone, but Vijay stayed focused on his goal. He was determined to succeed and believed that persistence was the key to success.
Becoming An IPS Officer In 2018
Vijay first took the UPSC exam in 2014 but didn’t pass. Despite this, he refused to give up and kept preparing.His hard work paid off in 2018 when he got an All India Rank (AIR) of 104 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam. This earned him a spot in the Indian Police Service (IPS).
But for Vijay, his journey wasn’t finished. He continued to work towards his dream of becoming an IAS officer. Instead of stopping, he chose to take the UPSC exam again.
Second Attempt At UPSC
Vijay looked at his past mistakes and worked on improving himself for his third attempt at UPSC. In 2021, his hard work paid off when he earned a top-70 rank and finally made it into the IAS.
Many candidates face repeated failures in competitive exams, but Vijay’s story shows that with persistence and the ability to adapt, success is possible.
