JD(S) MLA HD Revanna was detained on Saturday in connection with the purported Karnataka sex scandal investigation by the Special Investigation Committee (SIT), which is examining the accusations of sexual misconduct involving Revanna and his son, Prajwal.
Following the denial of the anticipatory bail plea filed by HD Revanna in the Mysuru abduction case, the arrest occurred shortly thereafter.

Initially, the SIT detained Revanna from the residence of his father, former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, and subsequently transported him to the CID office, where the official announcement of his arrest was made.
Following his arrest, Revanna was promptly taken to Bowring Hospital for a medical examination.
Previously, the kidnapped victim was rescued from a farmhouse in Kalenahalli, Hunsur Taluk, belonging to Revanna’s close assistant Rajasekhar. The rescue operation was conducted by the SIT, leading to her discovery, as reported by the police. It’s anticipated that the victim will soon provide her testimony to the investigating panel.
The abduction case was lodged by the son of a woman who had been employed at the Revanna household for nearly five years. He claimed that his mother was abducted from their residence on April 29 by Satish Babanna, a relative of Revanna.

The victim had been kept captive by Rajashekhar at the farmhouse in Kalenalli, Hunsur taluk, since that time.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared on Saturday that he would refrain from intervening in the investigation concerning HD Revanna in the purported sex scandal case.
On the same day, the anticipatory bail petition of Prajwal Revanna, who is implicated in a sexual assault case, was also turned down by Justice Santosh Gajanana Bhat’s bench of the People’s Representative Court in Bengaluru.
The SIT also conducted a scene mahazar at Prajwal’s residence in Hassan. It’s significant to note that both HD Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna are confronted with serious accusations of sexual assault, including the alleged filming of the acts.
