Based on the investigation report submitted last Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took action in the Hathras stampede case, where statements of 100 individuals were recorded. Subsequently, action has been taken against the SDM and Circle Officer based on this report, leading to their suspension by the government.

Six officials, including the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) and circle officer, were suspended based on the special investigation team (SIT) report following the Hathras stampede incident. The stampede occurred during a ‘satang’ (religious congregation) on July 2, resulting in the death of 121 people and injuries to 30 others in Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh.

The ADG Agra Zone Anupam Kulshrestha and Commissioner Chaitra V. were included in the SIT by the government. They were directed to submit the investigation report within 24 hours. Although the government initially instructed them to submit the report by last Wednesday, they were unable to do so due to CM Yogi’s visit to the incident site and expediting rescue and relief operations.
