Himani Narwal Murder Case: In a major update, Haryana Police have arrested one accused in the murder case of Congress worker Himani Narwal. Her body was found inside a suitcase near a highway in Rohtak on Saturday. Haryana Police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case. Police suspected of murder during initial investigation. SHO Sampla Bijender Singh informed that they will hold a press conference at 11 am today.

What Did Police Say?
Earlier, Sampla DSP Rajneesh Kumar said, "An SIT has been formed. Narwal's phone has been recovered, and we are using cyber and forensic teams to investigate all possible angles."
According to the police, she lived alone in Haryana while her family resided in Delhi. "Police reached the spot upon receiving information. The body was found inside a suitcase and was later identified as Himani Narwal. Her family was called to confirm the identification. We are examining various aspects of the case and will resolve the matter as soon as possible," added DSP Rajneesh Kumar.
Narwal's Mother Reveals Shocking Details
Meanwhile, Narwal's mother, Savita, alleged that politics and elections played a role in her daughter's murder. She said, "The election and the party took my daughter's life. Because of this, she made some enemies. They (culprits) could be from the party or even her friends. On February 28, she was at home.”
She further alleged that people were uncomfortable and jealous of her growing stature in the party. She mentioned that she was close to Hooda family.
Political Leaders Demand Action
Congress leaders demanded a “high-level probe into the murder.” Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda strongly condemned the incident. He demanded a “high-level” and “impartial” probe into the incident.
Hooda wrote on X, “The news of the barbaric murder of active Congress worker Himani Narwal in Rohtak is extremely sad and shocking. I pay my tribute to the departed soul and express my deepest condolences to the family members. The murder of a girl in this manner and finding her body in a suitcase is extremely sad and shocking. This in itself is a blot on the law and order situation of the state.”
“There should be a high level impartial investigation of this murder and the government should provide justice to the victim’s family as soon as possible and provide the harshest punishment to the culprits,” he added.
Haryana BJP MP Kiran Chaudhary on Sunday demanded "severe" punishment. She said, "It is a very sad incident. I condemn such incidents that took place in society. The criminals should be given severe punishment as soon as possible."
