The 82nd meeting of the Kurukshetra Development Board was held in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, which was chaired by Governor and Board Chairman Bandaru Dattatreya. Many important proposals and suggestions came up in the meeting regarding the overall development of Kurukshetra.
Chief Minister Saini said in the meeting that the government’s goal is to get the cultural and spiritual heritage of the holy city of Kurukshetra recognized on the global platform. He directed to building of four new information centers for the facilities of pilgrims and tourists.
Apart from this, guidelines were given to the concerned department to increase greenery in the Jyotisar pilgrimage area. A plan to build gates and squares based on the theme of the Mahabharata and to run electric buses was also proposed.
It was also told in the meeting that apart from the 164 pilgrimage sites previously identified in the 48 Kos Kurukshetra area, the survey work of 18 new sites has been completed.
Apart from this, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastorgi, Home Department Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra, Kurukshetra Development Board officials, and senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that everyone will have to make joint efforts to get Kurukshetra recognized across the country. Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Cabinet Minister Vipul Goyal, MLA Ashok Arora, and MP Naveen Jindal also attended the meeting through video conferencing. Various aspects related to the development of Kurukshetra were discussed in detail in the meeting.
