Haryana: Exciting news for women travelers! The Haryana government has unveiled a special gift for women visiting their maternal homes on Raksha Bandhan.
Women will be granted free travel within Haryana Roadways buses during this period. This travel opportunity will be available from 12 noon on August 29 to 12 midnight on August 30, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan festivities. The complimentary travel benefit extends to both ordinary and standard buses.

District Commissioner Vikram Singh shared that in a gesture to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, the Haryana government has once again introduced the provision of free travel in the state’s transport buses. This initiative enables sisters to conveniently travel to their brothers’ residences to celebrate the occasion and tie rakhi. In the interest of the public, Haryana State Transport has been extending this complimentary travel facility to women during Raksha Bandhan for several years.

Consistent with the previous year, women accompanied by their children up to the age of 15 can avail themselves of this complimentary travel service.
The free travel period will commence at 12 noon on August 29 and conclude at 12 midnight on August 30, aligning with the Raksha Bandhan celebration. This travel benefit encompasses both ordinary and standard buses.
