Haryana: Good News! HMRTC Board Approves New 36 km Metro Route With 28 Stations In Gurugram

Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation board has given a green signal to the Detailed Project Report of the proposed metro project in Gurugram. Under this project, the metro will be constructed from Gurugram Sector 56 to Pachgaon.

About The Project

The length of this project will be 36 km. Under this metro project come 28 stations. An interchange station will be made in Sector 56 of Gurugram. The interchange station will be near to Sector 56 station of Rapid Metro, which runs from Cyber City to Sector 56. Also, an interchange station will be constructed at the Vatika Chowk. This is because there is a plan to run the metro from Bhondsi to Rajiv Chowk through Vatika Chowk, as per media reports.

Another station is going to be constructed near Ghata village on the Golf Course road. Following this metro stations will be developed in sector 61, sector 62, Narwana Country, and Sector 66.

Following the route from Vatika Chowk the metro stations will be developed in Sectors-69, 70 and 75. Under this developmental project, an interchange station will be constructed at Kherki Daula. From here the metro stations will be developed in Sector-36 A, Global City, Sector-88, sEctor84, Sector-85 and 89.

Apart from these stations, few more stations will be developed in Sector-86 and 90, Sector-91, Village Kankarola, Sector-M-15, Sector-M-14, M-9, M-8, Manesar (HORC), Sector-P-4, P-5, P-7, and Pachgaon, as per media reports.

About The Approval Process

Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation board has also approved the social impact assessment, environment-based assessment, and Alternative Analysis report.

After this, the Detailed Project Report will be sent to the Union Government once it gets approval from the State Government.

A recent Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation board meeting was chaired by Haryana Secretary Vivek Joshi. The meeting was attended by the IAS officer Anurag Rastogi, Arun Kumar Gupta, A. Srinivas, Dr. Chandrashekhar Khare, Amit Khatri, and Sushil Sarwan, along with IPS officer Navdeep Singh Virk and financial director BB Gupta, as per media reports.
