Haryana: In a tragic incident, a private school bus from GL Public School overturned in Haryana’s Mahendragarh district on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of eight children along with injuring 15 others.

The bus, which was en route to the school, was carrying around 40 children despite the school remaining open on a holiday declared for Eid-ul-Fitr.
The accident occurred near Unhani village in the district, causing several other children to sustain injuries. A large crowd quickly gathered at the scene following the incident.

A senior police official reported that the injured students were quickly taken to various hospitals in Mahendergarh and Narnaul. According to official documents, the bus’s fitness certificate had lapsed six years ago, in 2018.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the bus driver appeared to be intoxicated.
Haryana education minister Seema Trikha stated that she had spoken with the deputy commissioner and the Mahendergarh superintendent of police, asking them to visit the hospital where the students are being treated.
Furthermore, the police stated that the real cause of the accident is still unknown and an investigation into the matter is still going on.
