New Delhi: Congress Party’s popular politician Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s dream of becoming Haryana’s new Chief Minister has crashed as his party chances of clinching victory fade away. Even after Hooda would win at his contesting constituency of Garhi-Sampla Kiloi, he won’t be able to become the elected head of the state. By 1 pm on the poll day, the Congress veteran led by 46,578 votes according to the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 Results trend of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s Dream of Becoming Haryana CM Crashed!
Several surveys conducted on the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 Results had showed that Hooda would become state’ new CM. Infact, earlier on the poll day he was quoted by news agency ANI as he said , “No doubt, Congress is going to form the government with a huge margin. The party will decide (CM face). Congress will bring its own majority. The credit goes to all the party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and most importantly to the people of Haryana.” But the later part part of the election trend revealed other side of the story.
According to the India Today-C Voter survey, the citizens wanted Hooda as Haryana’s new CM. In the survey, 30.8% of respondents had expressed view in favour of him. While, Nayab Singh Saini was second with 22.1% popularity. The third choice for the Haryana CM position was Deepender Singh Hooda, who received thumbs up from 9.55 of the respondents. Additionally, Kumari Selja stood fourth with 4.9% of views in his favour. The candidate with the least support in this survey was Manohar Lal Khattar, with only 4.5% vote share.
Congress Performance In Haryana Assembly Elections 2024
Initially, the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 Results trend showed the Congress Party was all set for a landslide victory which was in line with the exit poll results. But, later on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took the lead. At the time of writing this article, the latter led the former by 49 seats. While, the Congress Party could secure only 35 seats.
