An FIR was filed in the matter on January 12, 2018.
Accquitted Last Week
It is worth noting that a Jamnagar court had accquitted Patel in a similar case last week in which he did not comply with the government’s order at a rally at Dhutarpar village in November 2017.
Patel was heading a Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) that time, Patidar community organisation, which demanded reservation for the community. The Patidar movement was a major event for Patel, which gave him a chance to enter the national politics.
He had joined the Congress party as he protested against the BJP-ruled state government in 2017. However, he quitted the party last year to join the saffron party.
There are over a dozen of sedition cases against the Patidar leader.
