As responsible citizens, we must maintain civic sense in public places as well as in our personal lives. However, what has happened with the Patna Metro — which was inaugurated by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar just a few days ago-highlights the opposite. A city vlogger drew attention to how gutka stains have turned the walls red inside the Metro premises.
Rounak Agarwal, a Patna-based vlogger, posted a video on Instagram showing gutka stains on the walls and Metro train platforms.
In the video, he said, “The Metro started just 2–3 days ago, and see-the gutka gang has already arrived and turned the walls and platforms red with stains. Have some shame, people of Bihar!”

Netizens have actively commented on the video, which has garnered over one million views and a large number of reactions.
One user wrote that such people should not just be fined but sent directly to jail for their misdeeds. Another user commented that they should be fined so that paying the penalty makes them realize the gravity of their wrongdoing.
The same user later added that the offenders should be sent to jail for at least ten days.
Another user remarked, “People of Bihar lack civic sense.”
On October 6, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the first phase of the 3.6-km elevated stretch of the priority corridor of the Patna Metro rail project.
The inaugural stretch on the Blue Line will run from the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) to Bhoothnath station.
According to a press release, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Patna Metro Rail Project, estimated to cost Rs 13,365 crores, in February 2019.
Earlier in the day, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal hailed the project and said that the people will be relieved of traffic jams.
