This festival is auspicious and one of the most important festivals of Sikkim, also known as Prakash Utsav among the preachers. . It is significant for the Sikh community as their first Sikh Guru and the founder of Sikhism was born on this day. It is observed as a holiday across the nation to honor the Sikh leader. The day, according to mythology, falls on the full moon day of the Kartik month in the lunar calendar.
