New Delhi: A joint team of Indian Coast Guard and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) seized a Pakistani boat ‘Al Sakar’ off the Gujarat coast with 50 kg heroin worth Rs 350 crore on Saturday.
The boat with six crew members on board was brought to Gujarat’s Jakhau port for further investigation, officials said.
The operation was conducted during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
According to the information, 50 kg heroin was loaded on the Pakistani boat, which is said to be worth Rs 350 crore in the international market.

“In a swift operation, Gujarat ATS and Indian Coast Guard caught a Pakistani boat ‘Al Sakar’ near International Maritime Boundary Line, 50 km from Gujarat,” Gujarat DGP Ashish Bhatia said.
The boat carried 6 Pakistani men & 50 kg of heroin with a value of Rs 350 cr was seized from them, he added.
A big drug dealer from Pakistan had Mohd Kadar sent the consignment here, the DGP said, adding that the transaction was going to take place on the high seas.
Upon receiving information, Gujarat ATS launched the operation and nabbed 6 Pakistanis, he added.
Bhatia said that this is the 6th such operation in the past few years which has been carried out by the ATS in collaboration with other agencies.
This is the second such operation in less than a month. Earlier on September 14, 40 kg of drugs were seized from a Pakistani boat.
The Pakistani boat was seized 6 miles inside Indian waters with 40 kg of drugs worth Rs 200 crore. “Two ICG boats intercepted a Pakistani boat 33 nautical miles off Jakhau coast in Gujarat,” Indian Coast Guard officials had said.
