Gujarat Hit And Run Case: Two Killed, One Injured in Gandhinagar; Accused Driver Nabbed While Fleeing

According to Infocity Police Station, the driver appeared to be in an inebriated state and has been taken into custody.

The Gujarat Police on Friday said that two people lost their lives while one person was injured in a hit-and-run incident in Gandhinagar. The accused driver, who attempted to flee the scene, was held by the police.

Gandhinagar SP Ravi Teja Vasansetty informed the media that around 10:30 am, the accused Hitesh Patel was driving at a high speed and hit around five people with his car. Of these, three injured people are undergoing treatment, while two died on the spot. The case is currently under investigation and the FSL team is also present at the spot, as reported by ANI.

Police officials are analysing CCTV footage and collecting statements from eyewitnesses to understand the exact sequence of events. Along with this, the police are trying to find out how fast the vehicle was moving, whether the driver was drunk or not, and whether any other negligence or rule violation led to the accident.
