Rajkot Fire: In a tragic incident, three people were dead and one sustained injuries after a fire broke out at Atlantis building in Rajkot, Gujarat. The incident occurred on Friday morning, stated an official. Rajkot Fire and Emergency services were rushed to the site upon receiving the information. The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Others living in the flat have also been evacuated informed the police.
Superintendent of Police (SP), BJ Chaudhary said, “Three people have lost their lives, and one injured person has been admitted to hospital for treatment. All the people living in the flat have been evacuated.”
DCP Rajkot City Jagdish Bangarwa added, “Three persons have died, and one is injured and being treated in a hospital. Everyone else was safely evacuated.”
Short Circuit Suspected
Initial investigations have revealed that the blaze erupted due to a short circuit in the building. It’s reported that the short circuit occurred during renovation work in the sixth-floor lobby.
The fire has been brought under control. The flame ignited on the sixth floor of the building around 10 a.m. It rapidly spread to the fifth floor creating panic among the residents.
“The fire has been brought under control, and the situation is normal at the moment,” added the official.
Parthrajsinh Gohil, DCP Crime, Rajkot said that the residents were evacuated safely. He informed that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
