A recent wedding in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh brought shockwaves across families of both sides when one guest was killed by another. The incident took place on Sunday night after an argument between both of them over the choice of song. The victim and the accused reportedly had a verbal spat on playing a song of their choice. While the near and dear ones sorted it out on the spot, little did they know that the groom’s part would take an extreme step and kill the other.
Life taken for a DJ song
Playing a song of one’s choice at a wedding is something everyone loves. A bride is quite particular about the song being played during her entry, a groom loves to choose songs for the joyful dance when the baraat reaches its destination. Disagreement, verbal spat or scuffle have been heard when it comes to choice of songs being played but what happened in Sultanpur has jolted both the houses of the bride and the groom. The guest from the groom’s side had reportedly slit the throat of the guest from the bride’s side who was a close friend of the bride’s brother.
Knife attack to avenge ‘dishonour’
As per the police reports, this incident took place around eight on Sunday night when the victim Uttam Yadav (who is now deceased) was engaged in a verbal spat with the accused over playing a song on DJ. However, the victim was caught by the accused when he was returning home from the wedding procession.
Around 11:00 pm on Sunday night, when Uttam Yadav was returning home with a friend on his motorcycle, he was attacked with a knife by the accused named Govind. Due to this unprecedented attack, the victim fell off the bike and before his friend could come to his rescue, Govind slit his throat and ran away.
