In a shocking incident late on the night of March 4-5, a grenade attack targeted the police post in Old Town, Baramulla, sparking immediate concern among forces. Fortunately, no casualties or damage have been reported following the explosion, which occurred late last night.
According to police officials, the blast-like sound emanated from the rear of the police post, prompting swift action from law enforcement agencies. Joint teams comprising police, the army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) quickly cordoned off the area to ensure public safety.
During subsequent search operations, authorities recovered a grenade pin near the boundary wall of the police post. This discovery led investigators to suspect that it was an attempted grenade attack, with the explosive device detonating inside the police post’s premises without causing any harm.
Police are currently conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident, with search operations ongoing in and around Old Town Baramulla to locate any additional evidence and suspect terrorists involved in the attack. Joint team of Police army and CRPF are conducting massive search operation in the area alongside the questioning of suspects.
