India is having several developmental projects underway and some are ready to get implemented this year. The Indian government has brought another big announcement for the religious sites and tourist destinations.
Government of India plans to establish the ropeway connectivity at 18 places which include religious places and tourist destinations. The objective of this is to improve accessibility and offer a more convenient travel to the devotees or the visitors.
The government has invited consultants to submit proposals for making the Detailed Project Reports for these 18 projects.
Among these projects, the ropeway which will be connecting Amarnath Shrine to the Baltal Stands is the largest one. It will be stretched over 11.6 Kilometers. This will offer the pilgrims an alternate route for the travel purpose. Currently, the devotees take a helicopter or cover the distance by walking. This will reduce the travel time and help the devotees to reach the destination easily.
There are other ropeway projects, among those one is the ropeway to Sabrimala Temple. Sabrimala Temple is in Kerala. This will be 2.62-km long project. This will solve the issue of two hour long climbing from Pamba. This is one of the most pilgrimage. This will make the journey easy for the devotees.
Apart from this there is another ropeway project in Parvathamalai Temple in Tamil Nadu. This temple is famous for its cultural and religious significance. This will be 3.21-Kilometer long project. This will make the devotees reach the destination easily.
Not only these but there is ropeway project of 1.6 Km from Jammu and Kashmir’s Sonamarg to Thajiwas Glacier. Under these projects there is plan to join Amer Fort with Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur using the ropeway which will be 6.45-Km long. Also a ropeway is proposed from Mussoorie to Kempty Falls. The length of this is 3.21-Km.

- Mullayyana Giri in Chikmagalur (2.38-Km)
- Chamunda Devi Temple in Himachal Pradesh.
- Kunjapuri temple in Uttarakhand
- Jwala Narsimha Swamy Temple
- Sri Boyakonda Gangamma Temple in Andhra Pradesh
- Salkanpur Wali Mata Temple in Madhya Pradesh
- Assam’s Bhuban Pah Mahadev Temple
