A look at the latest trends from Govindganj shows that INC candidate Shashi Bhushan Rai is trailing LJPRV’s Raju Tiwari by more than 11,373 votes. The final result will only be clear once counting is complete, but this is certainly disappointing news for INC supporters.
Govindganj Election Results 2025 : The Govindganj constituency, one of Bihar’s politically significant seats, is known for its diverse voter base and its pivotal role in shaping the state’s governance. The Govindganj election results carry great weight, as the constituency frequently witnesses close contests among major political parties, influencing the region’s political direction.
In the ongoing race for the new assembly, Shashi Bhushan Rai from the Indian National Congress (INC), Ashok Kumar Singh representing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Krishna Kant Mishra of the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) are key contenders. The constituency recorded an impressive 68.88% voter turnout, reflecting strong public engagement in the democratic process.
Govindganj Election Results 2025: Raju Tiwari wins
The Govindganj assembly election results are in, and LJPRV candidate Raju Tiwari has emerged victorious. He secured 96,034 votes, defeating INC’s Shashi Bhushan Rai, who received 63,351 votes. Although the Election Commission has officially declared results for only a handful of seats, the overall picture in Bihar is already clear — the NDA is headed for a sweeping comeback, while the Mahagathbandhan’s chances are rapidly fading. Exit polls did suggest an NDA victory, but very few expected the alliance to surge past 190 seats, putting it on track for one of the most decisive mandates in its history.
For most of the day, the NDA tally fluctuated between 190 and 200 seats before individual results began to roll in. By 5 pm, trends showed the BJP, Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), and Chirag Paswan’s LJP-RV together leading in 195 constituencies.
So far, winners have been declared in a little over 10 seats, with most victories going to the BJP and JD(U). On the other hand, it has been a near-complete wipeout for the Congress, which is ahead in only a few seats — and even those leads remain inconsistent.
