There is an exciting news for commuters, as Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for another expressway connecting Gorakhpur and Shamli. UP is expanding its expressway network and a new expressway construction project is under consideration. This new expressway will connect eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.
More About Gorakhpur- Shamli Expressway
Gorakhpur in eastern and Shamli in western UP will be connected through this expressway. This expressway will be 700 kilometers long and pass through 22 districts. The construction of this greenfield expressway will enhance connectivity and ease travel experience of commuters. It will reduce timing between Gorakhpur and Shamli from 15 hours to just 8 hours.
As per reports, this proposed expressway will be the second-largest expressway in the state. It will pass through districts like Ayodhya, Lucknow, Basti, Sitapur, Badaun, Rampur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Meerut, Saharanapur, Muzaffarnagar, Hardoi, Amroha, Sambhal, Bijnor, Sant Kabir Nagar, Gonda, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki and Bahraich.
Reportedly, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) which will finalise the route and design.
This will be a remarkable project and will help to boost infrastructure of the state. This projected is estimated to cost Rs 35,000 crores. It will ease vehicular movement in the region and promote economic growth.
It will also pass through Barabanki and cover nearly 50 kms of the district. This route will include facilities for emergency landing and fighter aircraft take-offs. This project aims to provide faster and efficient transportation for its residents.
In another major development, the Public Works Department has prepared to start the FNG expressway soon. The FNG project will connect Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad. Around Rupees 900 crore will be invested on the construction and land acquisition of the project. This will provide relied to people traveling from Faridabad to Noida and Ghaziabad.
