Commuters in Uttar Pradesh are going to receive good news soon, as the Gorakhpur Link Expressway is expected to open to the public in January, 2025. 91.35 km long Gorakhpur Link Expressway starts from Jaitpur in Gorakhpur district and ends at Salarpur in Azamgarh district at Purvanchal expressway.
The link expressway is going to benefit commuters of four major districts including, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Ambedkarnagar and Sant Kabir Nagar. The total cost of construction of the expressway is Rs 7,283 crore. Another salient feature of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway is underpasses for Vehicles, Pedestrians, and Animals.
How Will It Benefit Commuters?
The Gorakhpur Link Expressway will provide faster connectivity and a better commuter experience as well as help in getting the population of affected areas closer.
After opening for public, the expressway will ease connectivity between Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. This will also benefit commuters travelling between Delhi and Lucknow.
The expressway will connect Gorakhpur and Azamgarh and further link Purvanchal expressway, easing the travel experience of commuters. This expressway will bring the estimated travel time between two ends to 4:30 to 5 hours.
Lucknow To Gorakhpur In 3.5 hours
As per reports, it will take only 3 and half hours to reach Lucknow from Gorakhpur via this expressway. Right now, it takes 5.50 hours to travel between both the cities. This expressway will pave way for the development of Gorakhpur by developing infrastructure, tourism, and boosting economy.
The work on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway is almost complete. It is one of the major developmental projects in Uttar Pradesh. Around 98% of the total work of the expressway has been completed, as per media reports.
